As a planner, I always carry around my emergency wedding bag on wedding days and my couples often ask what I could possibly need that takes up so much space! Well, I’m going to tell you today exactly what’s in it – rest assured that all of these things have been needed at one time or another and I am always adding to the bag!
For those of you that aren’t using a wedding planner, it might be an idea to have at least a few of these to hand (I think chalk is the most useful for those small mishaps that cause stains on the dress – a little chalk can cover it!)
In my emergency kit:
-
Paracetamol
-
Plasters
-
Chalk (white)
-
Wonder web (for unruly hems)
-
Scissors
-
Facial blotting papers (get rid of shine)
-
Deodorant
-
Tweezers
-
Pins
-
Dress tape (ok then – tit tape!)
-
Lint brush
-
Diarrhoea medicine (when the nerves get too much!)
-
Nice pen (for when the couple forget one for the guestbook)
-
Candle lighter (so used!)
-
Wipes
-
Alka seltzer (comes in handy)
-
Hair clips/bands/hairspray/mousse
-
Chapstick
-
Nail file
-
Clear nail polish
-
Hair gel (one of my very few items I’ve needed for the groom)
-
Mints
-
Sweets (sugar rush when brides forget to eat all day)
-
Sewing kit
-
Face powder and brush
-
Tampons
-
Cotton buds
-
Rescue remedy (calms you down)
-
Moisturising lotion
-
Tissues
-
Sun cream
-
Blu-tac
-
Travel Iron
-
Feet gel pads
-
Cufflinks (the most forgotten item)
-
Earrings (mainly plain pearl ones)
-
Straws (so the bride doesn’t mess up her makeup if she needs hydrating just before leaving for the wedding)
-
Cough/flu stuff
-
Bug spray
-
Eyelash glue
-
Phone charger
-
Tights (in 3 sizes)
So you see – I NEED that massive emergency bag!
I like to be prepared for any eventuality!
I have lots of weddings I’m organising right now and most of them are happening in July so I’ll have some lovely pictures to show you all soon!
Happy Planning,
